Mid-Century Modern Comes to Life

My collaboration with Tim and Linda is taking shape.  The framing has been completed and the interior walls are all in place.  Plumbing and Electrical work have begun and the new roof is about to be installed. The new bones are now in place waiting for the skin (weather proofing and finishes) to be applied and the windows to be installed.  This will be a very energy efficient project with much of the insulation being placed outside of the air and water barrier in line with "Building Science" practices.  Here are a few photos showing before and current progress......

An Addition Rises in Lincoln

Work on a major renovation for dear old friends has started to come out of the ground in Eastern Massachusetts. This has been the result of a really fine collaboration and will send this Mid-Century Modern house into the future. Linda has been working on a very nice and comprehensive blog on the progress of the construction. Take a look at:
https://ourhouse2016.wordpress.com/

Here are the exterior elevations as designed. As in every project, the reality of construction, materials, clarifications, and general work in the real world create changes to the final creation. A good team involving efforts by the home owners, architect and contractor keeps things moving smoothly and to a good result. Our team is making that happen. As you follow the blog, it will be interesting to see these drawings come to life.
